Flutterby

Flutterby

Once there was a butterfly
Perched on the car window
Admiring its reflection
Ignoring the passers-by

The car moved slowly
Still it stayed stubbornly
Faster and faster we went
The wings fluttered in the wind
Until the poor thing
Could no longer hold on
And with full of sorrow
Let go of its shadow
and went flutterby
Passed us by
somewhere in the wind..
